Oregon State Football: Beau Baldwin To Become Next Head Coach

The Oregon State football program has its next head coach.
On Saturday morning, Oregon State announced the hiring of Cal Golden Bears offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin.
According to FootballScoop.com, the move was rumored for several days before becoming official on Saturday. For Baldwin, it’s a return to head coaching. He was the head coach at Central Washington in 2007, and at Eastern Washington from 2008-2016.
Baldwin spent just one year in Berkeley as the assistant head coach, running backs coach and offensive coordinator.
He’ll need to draw from all of that experience if he’s going to lead a turnaround at Oregon State. The Beavers have struggled through one of their worst seasons in recent memory.
They’ve managed only one win this season, the first time that has happened since 1995.
Oregon State hasn’t appeared in a bowl game since 2013, and that will be a the top of coach Baldwin’s checklist.
This is just the latest domino to fall as the coaching carousel is starting to fill out with the season winding down. Earlier today, the UCLA Bruins announced the hiring of Chip Kelly as their next head coach.
