The Vols football program is in search of Butch Jones’ replacement. Among the names linked to Tennessee during its head coaching search have been high-profile candidates like Jon Gruden, Chip Kelly and Dan Mullen.
That has led to some excitement among the Volunteers fan base, so the news on Sunday morning had to hit them like a punch in the guy.
According to reports, the Vols will landing a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach not named Gruden.
Instead, Tennessee is reportedly finalizing a deal with Ohio State defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Greg Schiano.
