On Monday, reports surfaced that LiAngelo Ball is being pulled from UCLA by his father LaVar Ball because of his ongoing suspension from the program.
Ball was suspended indefinitely along with teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill after being arrested for shoplifting during an overseas trip to China.
Now that Ball will no longer be under the scrutiny of the NCAA, he is set to receive his own signature shoe from Big Baller Brand. The “Gelo 3” will be released at a yet to be determined date, according to Bleacher Report.
It becomes the third Big Baller Brand sneaker released, following signature shoes for his two brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo. Lonzo’s sneaker, the ZO2, was the first to be be unveiled by the company, before LaMelo unveiled the Melo Ball 1.
Now, LiAngelo gets one of his own.
There is no word on what is next for Ball after withdrawing from UCLA, but his father says they are exploring all options. Who knows, maybe LiAngelo can return to China to play some professional hoops.
