Toledo Football Coach Roasts Bowl Season Critics

College football bowl season kicked into full swing over the weekend and Toledo head coach Jason Candle has some words for its critics.

There are a number of people who criticize college football’s postseason structure because of the large amount of games that take place over the course of a few weeks, but Candle wanted to remind everyone it could be worse.

During an appearance on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM, Candle roasted the bowl critics while taking a shot at basketball.

“I would tell anybody that’s annoyed by too many (bowls), just don’t watch it,” Candle said, via college football insider Brett McMurphy. “Watch some bad basketball.”

The Rockets will be facing Appalachian State in the Dollar General Bowl on Saturday.

In total, there will be 40 bowl games.

And like Candle says, if you don’t like, tough luck.
