Gordon Hayward surprised fans at TD Garden for Monday’s Christmas Day matchup between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards.
Fans were treated to a special message from the injured forward who walked onto the court to deliver a special holiday message.
Hayward wished everyone a Merry Christmas, which was met by a thunderous applause from the crowd.
“On behalf of my teammates, the coaches, the rest of the organization, I just want to wish you guys a Merry Christmas, happy holidays,” Hayward said. “Thanks for the support this year. Go Celtics!”

Hayward says that he is currently on track to recovery from his gruesome leg injury according to the initial timetable, so if everything continues to go as planned, we could see the forward back on the court before the end of the 2017-18 NBA season.
