Former Oregon Coach Mark Helfrich Hired As Chicago Bears OC

Former Oregon football coach Mark Helfrich has found a new job.
On Thursday, it was announced that the former Ducks leading man has been hired by the Chicago Bears, where he will serve as the team’s offensive coordinator under new head coach Matt Nagy.
It will be the first crack at an NFL gig for Helfrich, who previously spent time with Colorado, Arizona State, Boise State and Southern Oregon. He did serve as a professional coach before, however, serving as offensive coordinator for the Dacia Vienna VIkings, who participated in the BIG6 European Football League.

Helfrich worked under Chip Kelly and Dirk Koetter, so he is known for his offensive mind.
It’s also a great hire for Nagy, who has not hid his intentions to mix West Coast offense concepts with the spread, much like his former boss Andy Reid. Nagy accepted the Bears head coaching job after serving as the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator.
