The highly-anticipated “Paterno” movie by HBO dropped its first official trailer this week.
“Paterno” will focus around the events that led to the downfall of disgraced Penn State football head coach Joe Paterno amid the Jerry Sandusky scandal which nearly landed the death penalty for the program.
“The film centers on Joe Paterno, who, after becoming the winningest coach in college football history, is embroiled in Penn State’s Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, challenging his legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure regarding the victims,” HBO said in a statement at the time of the announcement, via Deadline.com.
The film is set to release this year in the spring, though no official release date has been set.
