It’s time for another busy week in the college basketball world and the Associated Press has released the brand new AP Top 25 Poll for Week 16.
As the conference tournaments loom around the corner, the Virginia Cavaliers reached the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 poll last week for the first time in more than 35 years. This week, the Cavaliers have strengthened their hold on the top spot with 42 first-place votes.
Duke jumped seven spots from No. 12 to No. 5 in the latest spot, while Kansas and North Carolina also made the move into the top ten.
Teams falling out of the top ten are Cincinnati, Auburn and Ohio State.
The Bearcats slipped from No. 5 to No. 11, Auburn went from No. 10 to No. 12 and the Buckeyes slipped eight spots all the way to No. 16.
