Ryan Shazier will not suit up in 2018.
This week, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert updated the linebacker’s status and, while he is making progress, he will sit out the 2018-19 NFL season to continue his rehab.
Shazier was seriously injured against the Cincinnati Bengals in December.
The spinal cord injury left Shazier without any feeling in his legs. However, since the injury, he was been making incredible progress and even recently began walking with assistance.
Kevin Colbert says, “Ryan Shazier won’t play in 2018.” Says he’ll be a part of the #Steelers, but there will be some sort of designation for him.

Shazier knows he has a long battle ahead of him if he wants to return to the field, but he has expressed his desire to one day where the black and gold again. It just won’t be in 2018.
