As the 2018 NFL Draft draws closer, we are gaining an idea of what teams could be looking to make trades at the top of the draft order. One of those teams is the Denver Broncos after John Elway announced on Thursday that the team is open for business and willing to move the No. 5 overall pick. If the Broncos can’t find a trade partner, Elway said the team could stay put and draft the best player available.
“We’re open,” Elway had previously said during an appearance in front of the media at the NFL Scouting Combine. “Like you said, everything is going to come in order, and obviously like you said free agency is first. We’ll be open for business on the fifth pick depending on how things fall.”
Elway made the most recent comments –“I’m open to trading” — during the team’s pre-draft press conference.

If the asking price isn’t too steep, we could see teams like the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals willing to make a move into the top five to target one of the best available quarterbacks in this year’s class. We will find out in one week whether the Broncos ultimately pull the trigger on a move.
The 2018 NFL Draft takes place April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
