The ACC awards for the week of May 7 have been announced, with the conference announcing its Baseball and Softball Players of the Week. In each sport, there is an honoree for Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week. The awards come at a perfect time with the College World Series and Softball World Series just over a month away.
This week, the honors went to players from Florida State, Louisville, and Notre Dame.

ACC Baseball Player of the Week: Niko Kavadas, Notre Dame
Kavadas was 8-for-12 last week with five runs driven in, seven runs scored, two home runs, and four walks to lead Notre Dame to a 3-1 week. In a 14-4 midweek win over Western Michigan, the freshman third baseman from Granger, Indiana, was 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, a home run, and a walk. Kavadas tallied five hits in the series win over Pitt, including a go-ahead home run in the sixth inning of Friday’s win over the Panthers to give the Irish the lead for good. In the four games, Kavadas posted an on-base percentage of .765 and a slugging percentage of 1.167.
ACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Adam Wolf, Louisville
Wolf registered 10 strikeouts and allowed only one run on three hits in a career-high 8.0 innings of work to move to 5-2 on the season in last Friday’s series-opening victory at Boston College. The 10 strikeouts were just one shy of his career best total of 11 achieved earlier this season at Wake Forest (March 16), five of his eight innings against the Eagles were 1-2-3 innings, and the only run he surrendered came with two outs in the eighth. The junior lefthander from Milan, Ohio, lowered his ERA to 2.26 and has surrendered two or fewer earned runs in nine of his 12 starts this season for the Cardinals.

ACC Softball Player of the Week: Jessie Warren, Florida State
Warren, the ACC’s career leader in home runs (78) and RBI (257), was key in the Seminoles’ sweep of NC State. The senior from Tampa, Florida, posted a batting average of .714 (5-for-7), and a slugging percentage of 2.000 across the three games. Warren totaled four RBI, four runs, three home runs and a stolen base on the week, hitting a home run in each game.
ACC Softball Pitcher of the Week: Kylee Hanson, Florida State
Hanson was outstanding in the circle for Florida State last week. The redshirt senior from Jupiter, Florida, allowed zero runs and no hits in nine innings of work. Hanson pitched a no-hitter in a 5-0 win against the Wolfpack on May 5, posting a complete game with seven strikeouts. She racked up 10 total strikeouts on the week, and recorded a save in a 3-0 win against NC State on May 6.
