College Football Schedule 2018: ESPN Announces First 3 Primetime ABC Games

ESPN announced its primetime schedule for the first three weeks of the 2018 college football season and fans are going to be in for a treat. After an incredible schedule to start the 2017 college football season, 2018 had a lot to live up to but it is set to deliver. While the matchups may be lopsided, the name recognition is impressive. Programs like Alabama, Penn State, and Ohio State will all be featured.
The first primetime matchup of the year will be a Saturday night game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Louisville Cardinals in Orlando.
The following week, one of the best rivalries in college football takes center stage when the Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Panthers go head-to-head. It will be the third consecutive year that the two programs have faced off on the gridiron after a 16-year hiatus. Pitt won in 2016, while Penn State won in 2017. Penn State leads the all-time series, 51-43-4.
Finally, the Week 3 primetime game features the Ohio State Buckeyes and TCU Horned Frogs in Arlington, Texas.
As an added bonus, Labor Day Weekend will get a special Sunday night primetime game when the LSU Tigers face off against the Miami Hurricanes.
It’s set to be an exciting start to the new year and the impressive primetime matchups in the opening weeks of the season will only add to the excitement and intrigue as the college football landscape takes its early form on the road to another national championship.
