It’s Woman Crush Wednesday, which means it’s time to take a look at the college sports world and appreciate some of the standout athletes across the nation. Every week, we feature an athlete that stands out among their peers. This week, we feature Korina Rosaria, a senior member of the Florida State Seminoles softball team.
Florida State blew out the Washington Huskies to win the national title.
Rosario recently had her jersey number retired from her high school, West Florida High school.
“(Retiring Rosario’s jersey) was something that we had been working on with the administration for a couple of years now,” West Florida coach Jessica Smith said, via the Pensacola News Journal. “To get it together now, it’s a really big deal. If you look at all the awards and accomplishments Korina got during her four years at West Florida, it is much deserved.”
Speaking of the honor, Rosario stated, “I will always remember the administration, coaches, friends and teammates. Just having them there to support me during high school was really cool. I will always be friends with my teammates. We still talk about (our) senior year. We talk about the day we won the state championship and how amazing of a season that was. Senior year was the greatest year of my life.”
