We still have a few months until the 2018-19 college basketball season kicks off, but ESPN analyst Dick Vitale isn’t letting that stop him from taking a look at what is to come. In a recent exchange on social media, the man affectionately known as Dickie V dropped his knowledge on who he believes the top four team in the nation will be.
The list features a handful of the usual suspects, with one SEC team that may come as a surprise.
The top four according to Vitale? Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Duke.
Vitale dropped his list in a response to fellow college basketball analyst Gary Parish.
# 1 @KUHoops 2 @KentuckyMBB 3 @Vol_Hoops 4 @DukeMBB my pre season big 4

He went on to say that “experience, depth, size, and the “PTPers” — which is Dickie V slang for Primetime Players — make all of the difference in giving the Jayhawks the early edge. Kentucky will be bringing in a number of talented five-star freshmen, so it could take a few weeks into the season until we see the Wildcats really start to gel.
