It’s watch list season, and the Bednarik Award has released its 2018 watch list for the college football season. Every year, the Bednarik Award is delivered to the top player in college football and none other than Houston Cougars star Ed Oliver leads the way entering the upcoming season.
Other standouts include potential No. 1 overall pick Nick Bosa of Ohio State, Mississippi State’s Jeffery Simmons, Dexter Lawrence from Clemson, and Northern Illinois standout Sutton Smith. All of the players were named as semifinalists for the award just a year ago.
Last year’s Bednarik Award ultimately went to Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.
