The Florida State Seminoles opened their 2018 season last weekend with a 24-3 loss to Virginia Tech. The loss was uncharacteristic in itself, but you know what they say, “if you’re going to lose, at least lose in style.” And the ‘Noles did just that, opting not to go with their signature garnet and gold color combo, but instead to debut in their all-black alternate uniforms, a color scheme which the team has only used one other time in the program’s history.
Announcing the decision via Twitter the week leading up to gameday, the FSU Football page showcased the sleek all-black uniforms that feature gold lettering with their signature shoulder/collar embroidery in garnet.
Fans were also surprised to see that the team would be going with an all garnet helmet with a gold arrow instead of their usual gold helmet.

Considering the result of the game, this may be the last time we get to see these beauties for a while, so here are a few more angles of the jerseys below:

The Seminoles entered 2018 coming off of a disappointing 7-6 season, and this loss to Virginia Tech has raised plenty of concerns. FSU will be looking to get back on track this weekend as the Samford Bulldogs come to Tallahassee Saturday at 7:20pm est.
