Elias Ricks, a five-star defensive back from Mater Dei High School in California, has announced his highly-anticipated college decision. The top-ranked cornerback took to social media on Christmas Day to announce where he will be playing college football.
After receiving offers from top programs like the LSU Tigers, USC Trojans, and Ohio State Buckeyes, it was the Tigers who received the good holiday news.
With the announcement of Ricks’ decision, LSU now has the No. 2-ranked class for 2020.
“I am finally here after a long talk with my heavenly father who has been guiding me the whole way,” Ricks wrote in a statement. “I am ready for this huge decision. This is my moment, this is my time I dreamed of this since I was a baby boy, and now to think I’m finally here is unreal.”
Ricks went on to thank everyone from his family to his high school football coaches.
He then concluded, “This is Elias Ricks. And I will be committing to the Lousiana State University. Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas.”
