It’s Monday, April 8, and the 2018-19 men’s college basketball season is coming to an end. College life can be busy, so at times it can be tough to keep up with the daily news cycle. That’s why we bring you Campus Connect, where you can catch the latest news in college sports and entertainment to keep on top of the buzz that everyone on campus will be talking about.

College Sports News

The Texas Tech men’s basketball team reached the Final Four for the first time in school history. The Red Raiders then knocked off the Michigan State Spartans and will now face the No. 1 seed Virginia Cavaliers for the national championship. In order to allow students appropriate time to enjoy the historic game, administrators have canceled all classes after 5:00 p.m. on Monday and all day on Tuesday.

Samantha Cerio, a senior gymnast for the University of Auburn, suffered a gruesome injury at the NCAA Regional Semifinal in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Cerio was performing the floor exercise when things went terribly wrong.

Entertainment News

Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch made history at Wrestlemania 35 on Sunday, April 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM Awards) were held Sunday, April 7 in Las Vegas. The event was be hosted by Reba McEntire, who is also serving as executive producer, for the 16th time in the award ceremony’s history.
