The NBA draft is months away and prospects have not yet obtained their NBA contract. However, Kentucky guard Keldon Johnson is already spending like has an NBA contract. Per TMZ, Johnson was spotted in Los Angeles driving a McLaren 720S Spider which is reportedly a $300,000 sports car. He was seen driving the car to dinner at famed LA restaurant Catch.
Johnson is projected to be a lottery pick in this year’s upcoming draft. However, in CBS Sports latest mock draft they have Johnson being taken 19th to the San Antonio Spurs.
Once entering the league, Johnson should have no problem affording these luxurious sports cars. However, he is not in the league yet and the NCAA strictly prohibits players from being compensated for their talents.
So the question is now, where did Johnson get the money to afford this car?
Could it be from his most recent signing tour?

Of course, it could have been a generous loan from his agent.
Now that Johnson declared for the NBA draft, he is not under the NCAA’s strict restrictions. Johnson can now profit from his talents and name. Needless to say, the former Wildcat is worth every penny.
Johnson was a former five-star recruit and was ranked one of the top ten players in the country for his class. Going on to Kentucky Johnson started 36 out of 37 games for Kentucky and averaged 13.5 points per game for the Wildcats. Now he will wait for his name to be called come draft day.
The NBA Draft will take place Thursday, June 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
