Turner is the latest addition in a coaching overhaul in College Station. He replaces Dave Christensen, who “parted ways” with the program earlier this month. Turner also beat out significant names for this particular vacancy, as 247 Sports states that former Tennessee Titans offensive line coach Bob Bostad and McNeese State offensive line coach Eman Naghavi were also in the running.
But this homecoming could be just what Turner needs. He served as the Aggies’ offensive line coach from 2008-2011 under former coach Mike Sherman, and subsequently followed Sherman to the Miami Dolphins after Sherman was fired by the university. Turner also served as the Dolphins’ offensive line coach.
It all went downhill from there, as Turner was fired by Miami for his alleged role in the bullying scandal surrounding former offensive linemen Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin. He spent the past two years in “private business” and also filed a defamation lawsuit against the NFL and investigator Ted Wells before being hired at Cincinnati as an assistant earlier this year.
But Turner will now be in College Station once again, a place where he is beloved as both a coach and recruiter, as Liucci pointed out on Twitter.
In addition to piecing together one of the top OL hauls in CFB history, Turner also signed a little-known basketball player named Mike Evans

Rolled your eyes at 'one of best in history' comment? The class produced two All-Americans, three NFL First Rounders and four draft picks.

Needless to say, with all of the supposed controversy surrounding Texas A&M in wake of the departures of quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray, plus Allen’s recent comments about the team’s “culture,” an old face in Turner should provide at least some semblance of stability.
