Hockey is a sport of strange traditions, especially on the collegiate level. Keep in mind that I only went to a small Division III school, but our hockey team had an insane following and there was a tradition that one always had to throw an orange onto the ice following a victory.
Well, in the case of this one fan who attended a game between Boston University and New Hampshire, something else was about to be thrown onto the ice. No, not oranges or any other fruit, but a dead fish, because UNH’s tradition is to throw one onto the ice after the Wildcats score their first goal.
Except, as the video below shows, this fan had some trouble getting the fish out of his hands.

The question thus poses itself: what’s worse? The young fan’s attempts at getting the fish over the top of the glass, or the fact that none of his fellow ‘Cats fans helped him?
Either way, there’s a lesson to be learned. When throwing a fish onto the ice, make sure that it’s not too big to toss over in one motion!
