Linebacker Rolando McClain has re-signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, McClain has signed a one-year, $5 million deal.

Dallas’ linebacking corps can thus look forward to a key member returning. McClain appeared in 11 games last season and had 80 tackles to go with a pair of sacks. He was drafted eighth overall out of Alabama by the Oakland Raiders in 2010 and famously retired after three seasons, only to make a comeback after a year away from the NFL.
For his career, the 26-year-old McClain has 407 total tackles and has proven to be an excellent run-stopper. And now Dallas can look forward to having him back on the field after it ranked 22nd in run defense in a lost 2015 season. The Cowboys were 4-12 last year as injuries ravaged the entire roster, with McClain himself missing time due to a concussion.
Thus, Dallas is committed to proving that last season was just a fluke and in bringing back a key member in Rolando McClain, that task should become easier.
