Ohio State to hold camp in Georgia this June

Urban Meyer and his Buckeyes are marching into the heart of SEC country this summer to hold a satellite camp in mid-June. The camp, taking place on June 16th, will be held at Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, GA.

Urban Meyer has built a relationship with the coaching staff at Central Gwinnett over the past few years through his recruiting of former Ohio State LB Trey Johnson.

Some might see this as a counter Jim Harbaugh’s trip he will be making with the Wolverines down to Cedar Grove High School in Georgia earlier in the same month. However, these are certainly not uncharted waters for Ohio State. Meyer held another satellite camp on Florida Atlantic’s campus last June. It is definitely also great strategic move for Buckeye recruiting, as Gwinnett County is a hotbed of high school talent, with about 50 players signing to FBS schools every February. It is definitely a great strategic move for Buckeye recruiting.

Central Gwinnett head coach Tom Wofford is excited to play host to Ohio State; and will be inviting two in state schools, Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
