Indiana defensive lineman Jacob Robinson was arrested over the weekend on alcohol-related offenses, according to Justin L. Mack of The Indianapolis Star.
Robinson, 19, was charged with “false informing and illegal consumption,” basically that he was drinking alcohol and lied about his age. Officers then asked for his birth date, and Robinson stumbled before being handcuffed. A breathalyzer test reported a .22 BAC.
The good news is that because this is a minor charge and Robinson doesn’t have a significant criminal record, he is eligible for a pretrial diversion program that allows him to avoid having a criminal record so long as something as small as paying a fine or doing community service is done.
A former three-star recruit, Robinson appeared in 13 games as a true freshman in 2015 and posted five tackles. He should be in line for more playing time as a sophomore, so hopefully his arrest doesn’t get him in too much trouble.
