Oklahoma wideout John Humphrey has opted to transfer out of the program, according to a post on his Twitter.

A former three-star recruit from the Houston area, Humphrey took a redshirt as a true freshman in 2015 and though he did not give a clear reason for his transferring, local radio host Carey Murdock has an idea why.
John Humphrey is a truly great kid. My guess is it probably has something to do with desire to be more involved in track and field.

Granted, a lot of college football players have also dabbled in track and field, namely Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey and Texas Christian’s Kolby Listenbee, but perhaps Humphrey wasn’t able to juggle both sports in Norman very easily. He’s talented beyond belief and though Oklahoma just lost a key piece of its potential receiving corps for next season, quarterback Baker Mayfield should be able to stay the course with the help of returning running back Samaje Perine.
