It’s time for another busy week in the college basketball world.
As the conference tournaments loom around the corner, the Virginia Cavaliers have reached the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time in more than 35 years.
Virginia received 30 of a potential 65 first-place votes.
A total of four teams received first-place votes — Virginia (30), Michigan State (21), Villanova (9) and Xavier (5) — with Cincinnati rounding out the top five.
Ohio State and Gonzaga both jumped into the top ten in the latest Associated Press poll, while Texas A&M and Arizona State went from unranked to the top 25.
