Ohio State Buckeyes Receive Championship Rings

Almost exactly three months after beating the Oregon Ducks in the BCS National Championship Game, the Ohio State Buckeyes have received their championship rings. And what beautiful rings they are.

Team captain and tight end Jeff Heuerman, set to graduate in the spring, tweeted a picture of his ring earlier this afternoon.

This ring is excellent for many reasons. First off, it’s shaped like a football. Given the tradition of Buckeye football that goes all the way back to famed coach Woody Hayes, it makes the design almost perfect.

It also helps that the design is simple, with minimal bling allowing the team logo to be the star of the piece. This could very well be a testament to the scrappiness of last year’s Buckeyes squad, which entered the BCS playoff as the No. 4 seed and defeated both Oregon and the Florida State Seminoles to become national champions.

The rings are great, and the team has a lot to look forward to next season. Congratulations to them.
