Thursday was a very scary day for Florida Gators fans. That night the team held its first practice of the offseason made open to the public, as anxious Gator fans got a first glimpse at what their team could look like come September. Fans got nervous when All-SEC cornerback Vernon Hargreaves injured his knee during an escalated team scuffle in practice.
Hargreaves underwent an MRI yesterday and the results showed that the injury was nothing more than a bone bruise on his knee.
A third- team All-American a season ago, Hargreaves was injured when defensive backs and wide receivers participated in an intense round of “Oklahoma” drills. He later limped off the field before being carted to the locker room and receiving an ice wrap.
Coach Will Muschamp listed Hargreaves as day-to-day. The injury scare put a damper on the rest of practice, and Gators fans were cautiously reminded of the rash of injuries the team endured in 2013 as they struggled to a 4-8 record.
