Four-star safety and Class of 2016 recruit Eric Monroe, out of North Shore High School in Houston, has committed to LSU. Monroe made the announcement on his personal Twitter page.
I Verbal commit to LSU💯

Ranked the No. 2 safety in his class by 247 Sports, Monroe had received offers from a myriad number of schools including Texas A&M, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan State among others. In a year, he’ll take his talents to Baton Rouge and become another member of head coach Les Miles’ signature hard-hitting defenses. The Tigers ranked eighth in the nation in total defense last year, and adding Monroe to the mix will surely keep the team at a similar or higher position in the rankings.
LSU went 8-5 (4-4 SEC) and lost to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl. The Tigers open the 2015 season at home against the Southland’s McNeese State Cowboys on September 5.
