Syracuse will be dealing with multiple sanctions from the NCAA within the next few seasons, but their reduction of scholarships hasn’t effected the mindset of young players looking to join the ACC squad.
Former Providence center Paschal Chukwu shocked Friartown when he decided to transfer out of the program and, on Sunday, he finally found a new home with the Syracuse Orange.

Chukwu will have to sit out the 2015-16 season due to the NCAA transfer rules and he will then be eligible to play for three more years.
The 7’2″ Westport, CT native averaged 2.6 points per game, 2.4 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in limited minutes off the bench.
Chukwu needs to develop more of a feel for the game and with the opportunity to play in practice against one of the ACC’s best, the big man will develop and hope to make an impact in 2016-17.
