The University of Oklahoma football program took to Twitter to address an earlier report that quarterback Baker Mayfield had suffered a rotator cuff injury and was unable to participate in offseason activities.
Though Mayfield has indeed missed some player-led workouts as of late, OU hopefully set the record straight with its tweet.
There is some unfounded reporting. Baker Mayfield has shoulder fatigue.

Even if Mayfield’s shoulder is just tired and his rotator cuff is fine, Sooners fans still may want to hold their breath. Shoulder injuries are no joke and considering how Mayfield is competing for the starting quarterback’s job with Trevor Knight, staying healthy is critical for the former Texas Tech transfer if he is to make an impact in Norman this year.
Campus Sports will provide any and all updates on Mayfield’s shoulder if more information is released.
Oklahoma opens the 2015 season at Memorial Stadium on September 5 against the MAC’s Akron Zips.
