The 2015 college football season is set to get underway this week and there is a lot of excitement surrounding the beginning of the year. There are a number of teams that are more than capable of making a run at the second College Football Playoff, and everyone seems to have a different prediction of which four teams will make it this year.
ESPN college football analyst Travis Haney has an extremely bizarre final four, while leaving out a couple of the best teams in the country.
My CFP picks: 1) Mich St 2) Okla 3) Tex A&M 4) Ariz St. (Yes, I know 3/4 play in W1.) MSU over ASU. OU over A&M. MSU over OU. #hottakez

It is always intriguing to see analysts make picks that no one has considered being capable of making a run at the playoffs. Michigan State is the one team on Haney’s list that has been talked about by other analysts, but neither Texas A&M nor Arizona State has been mentioned by anyone else of note.
Oklahoma certainly doesn’t seem like a playoff caliber team either, but things crazier than that have happened.
Leaving a team like Ohio State off the list in particular seems to be a pretty big mistake. They are without question the nation’s best team, although they do have a fairly tough schedule ahead of them.
That being said, it will be interesting to see how Haney’s predictions hold up when the season gets underway.
Arizona State is a very good football team, but they will have to play nearly perfect football in order to get into the playoff. Oklahoma and Texas A&M have difficult schedules ahead of them as well, and would have to play perfect football to get through their season with a record good enough to get them in.
Haney is making some bold predictions with this list, but that is part of being a good analyst and keeping the fans entertained.
