MSU without two defensive players for Oregon game

Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio is down two defensive subs for an undetermined period of time due to an indefinite suspension and a possible injury, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Junior safety Mark Meyers was arrested over the weekend for operating while intoxicated. Ingham County jail records said Meyers was an inmate until being released on bond Sunday morning.

“He’s suspended indefinitely,” Dantonio said in response to the news of Meyers’ arrest.

The status of sophomore linebacker Drake Martinez is still unknown.

The transfer has been working at outside linebacker and was expected to be playing in the rotation, but was wearing street clothes against Western Michigan.

It appears that neither player will be available for Saturday’s game at Spartan Stadium between No. 7 Oregon (1-0) and the No. 5 Spartans.
