A former three-star recruit out of Jacksonville’s First Coast High School, Lyons appeared in two games last season and posted eight tackles in the Seminoles’ first two games this season. Florida State fortunately has a strong front seven already and plenty of depth, but losing Lyons until the spring at the earliest is still a significant loss. Defense is what counts in the high-scoring ACC, and Florida State’s going to need plenty of it with the offense looking stagnant over the last two games.
Hopefully, Lyons does not experience any setbacks following surgery.
Campus Sports will update Lyons’ recovery as it progresses.
