Les Miles let LSU fan with cancer watch game from sideline

I’ve said it before and I will say it 100 times more: cancer absolutely sucks. It is one of the worst diseases out there today and I hate it for anyone who has to deal with it or lost a loved one because of it.

Sometimes, people with this deadly disease are given the chance of a lifetime by being allowed to do things that not everyone has the opportunity to experience. One LSU fan felt what that was like this weekend.

LSU head coach Les Miles built a relationship with Tiger fan Sid Ortis, who is dealing with osteosarcoma, over the last few months. Heading into LSU’s game with Auburn last Saturday, Miles called up Ortis and invited him to be a very special guest at the game.

So not only did he get to watch his favorite team, in one of the craziest stadiums in the country, while Leonard Fournette had a career day, he also got to hang out with the LSU coaches all day long. At some point throughout the day, Miles and Ortis met for an emotional moment.

What a great day for that young man. Good luck in the rest of your fight, Sid.

The Tigers are certainly behind you.
