The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball program has a lot to be excited about now that former VCU coach Shaka Smart is manning the sidelines, and one player to watch in the 2015-16 season is freshman guard Kerwin Roach Jr.
A four-star recruit out of Houston’s North Shore High School, Roach was highly impressive during a recent team workout. In a video posted to Twitter, the freshman sensation showed highly impressive leaping abilities.

Keep in mind that Roach reached the very top, and is only 6-foot-2. Needless to say, in Smart’s signature “havoc” style, this young man could end up being an absolute stud and a focal point of the Longhorns’ scoring attack. Once he gets stronger, improves his jump shot and learns how to play the point more so than the 2, he is going to be a special kind of player.
Texas opens the season against the Washington Huskies at Mercedes Benz Arena on November 13.
