Despite tearing his pectoral muscle during the Seminoles’ 23-17 overtime win against Clemson , defensive tackle Nile Lawrence-Stample played through it and finished the game.
Unfortunately for him and the Seminoles, he will miss the rest of the season.
The redshirt junior suffered a knee injury earlier in the season against the Citadel and was battling through that injury.
“Nile’s a tough son of a gun,” stated head coach Jimbo Fisher. “Off the knee [injury] and to do that, I have a lot of respect for what he was doing big time.”
Redshirt junior Derrick Mitchell will likely start alongside Eddie Goldman this weekend against NC State in place of Lawrence-Stample.
The top-ranked Seminoles (3-0, 1-0) face off against NC State (4-0, 0-0) this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
