Georgia cornerback Shattle Fenteng is likely to go under shoulder surgery per head coach Mark Richt and will miss the rest of the 2014 season.
Fenteng, a transfer from Hutchinson (Kan.) CC, was to be a key contributor to Georgia’s secondary. The JUCO All-American was the No. 1 ranked CB prospect out of Hutchinson and a four-star prospect according to ESPN.com and Rivals.com.
In his first season at Hutchinson (2012), he recorded 57 total tackles, 16 pass breakups, four interceptions and two tackles for loss. In 2013, Fenteng had 27 tackles, eight passes defended, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
Fenteng will be granted a medical redshirt and will still have two years of eligibility remaining after this season.
