Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen is losing cornerbacks coach Deshea Townsend to the Tennessee Titans, who have hired Townsend to become their new defensive backs coach. Neither Mullen or the university has confirmed Townsend’s departure, but two Bulldogs players have wished Townsend bon voyage on Twitter.
Congrats @desheatownsend on the great opportunity!

Thus continues the exodus from Starkville. Mullen has already lost defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, who took the same position at Miami, and safeties coach and recruiting coordinator Tony Hughes took the head coaching job at Jackson State.
Peter Sirmon has since been brought in to be defensive coordinator, but one thing is certain. With Mississippi State’s coaching staff undergoing such a makeover, not to mention key players in Dak Prescott and De’Runnya Wilson headed to the pros, the 2016 Bulldogs could very well look quite different on the field.
