Alabama Picked to Win SEC

-

There should be no surprise that the Alabama Crimson Tide were picked among voters to win the 2014 SEC championship.

The Tide finished with 154 points, more than all the other schools combined.

Auburn finished second in the voting with 75 points.

The South Carolina Gamecocks were picked to win the SEC East division. Head coach Steve Spurrier said during the SEC Media days that Alabama head coach Nick Saban was the greatest recruiter ever.

“Arguably, they’ve got the greatest collection of football players ever assembled for a college team,” Spurrier said. “If the recruiting services are correct, and they’re pretty much correct.

Alabama has nine players on the preseason SEC first-team list, including T.J. Yeldon and Amari Cooper who were two of the top vote getters.

The Crimson Tide open their season against West Virginia on August 30.
