Alabama Lands 4-Star Center

The Alabama Crimson Tide have the reputation of not only winning championship but producing NFL caliber talent at many different positions.

In fact, since Nick Saban took over Alabama in 2007, sixteen players have been drafted in the first round, including four offensive lineman.

Wetumpka (Wetumpka, Alabama) center Brandon Kennedy hopes he can join that list in the future. Kennedy verbally committed to play for Alabama on Thursday.

Andrew Bone of Tidesports.com caught up with Kennedy on his decision to play for Nick Saban.

“The atmosphere at Alabama was the biggest factor. Alabama has a great atmosphere. It’s very family-like. They are also business-like. When it’s time to get down to business they do that. The players always treated me well. I had a great time there.”

“It was very important to be a part of great (o-line) dynasty,” he said. “I feel I am going to be a great player there, and they will develop me to the best of my ability. They recruited me as a center. I can also play guard. I don’t have a preference.”

Kennedy is a great addition to an already impressive offensive line class.

Nick Saban has received commitments from four Rivals250 members:

– G Lestor Cotton, No. 34 overall
– G Richie Petitbon, No. 57 overall
– G Dallas Warmack, No. 173 overall
– C Brandon Kennedy, No. 201 overall
