Many were wondering who would take the snaps at quarterback for the Wisconsin Badgers when they take on LSU next Saturday night.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the answer is junior Tanner McEvoy.
Although head coach Gary Anderson said he would not announce who would be starting before the opener, sources told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that McEvoy would indeed be starting the team’s first game.
McEvoy, a transfer from Arizona Western College and South Carolina, lost the quarterback competition last season to Joel Stave. He played both wide receiver and safety and even recorded 27 tackles and one interception.
Stave will serve as McEvoy’s backup.
McEvoy and Wisconsin will have their hands full on August 30.
LSU has won 45 consecutive non-conference games, not including bowl games.
