The LSU/Alabama rivalry has been one of college football’s best in recent years and that will be no different in 2014.
The November showdown between the Tigers and Crimson Tide has surpassed Notre Dame vs. Michigan and Michigan vs. Ohio State as the most expensive ticket in the country, with an average ticket price of $568.63, according to Forbes.com.
Since Nick Saban took over Alabama in 2007, he is 5-3 versus his former team. The rivalry heated up tremendously in 2011 when Alabama was gifted a rematch of an earlier season defeat to the Tigers, and they defeated their division rival in the national championship, 21-0.
It was LSU’s only loss of the season (13-1).
LSU will attempt to avoid their fourth consecutive loss to Alabama when the Tide roll into Baton Rouge on November 8.
Interestingly enough, Tiger Stadium’s south end zone expansion project that was completed earlier this summer has increased the seating capacity to 102, 321, just barely passing Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium by 500 seats (101,821).
