Texas quarterback David Ash will not be available this upcoming Saturday when the Texas Longhorns face off against BYU.
Ash is struggling with concussion-like symptoms, the same injury that forced him to miss all but three games last year.
The junior suffered the injury after being hit in the first half in the Longhorns 38-7 win over North Texas. Ash would later experience headaches and dizziness which alerted the medical staff. He completed 19-of-34 passes for 190 yards and two total touchdowns, one passing and one throwing in the win.
Sophomore Tyrone Swoopes will get his first career start in place of Ash. Texas is hoping to avenge an embarrassing 40-21 loss to BYU from a season ago. The Longhorns gave up a school-record 550 yards rushing in the loss.
