Top-Ranked Josh Sweat To Miss Rest of Season

The top overall prospect according to ESPN’s Top 300, Josh Sweat, will miss the remainder of his senior season after dislocating his knee during last Friday’s game against Western Branch.  An MRI revealed the severity of the injury and his mother made the announcement official earlier today

“He’s going to have to have some surgery on his knee,” Carlette Sweat said. “He won’t be playing again this year. He wanted to try to get back and play with his team, but he has to have surgery.”

Sweat, a five-star defensive end prospect, has interest from almost every Division I football program and had scheduled visits with Oregon, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Ohio State, and Florida State prior to the injury.  His mother, however, expects that the surgery will not severely impact his recruiting process and that her son hopes to enroll at whichever school he chooses for the spring semester.

The 6-foot-5, 240 pound man-child will provide one lucky team with jaw dropping athleticism and the ability to pressure the quarterback on every snap.
