Every year on National Signing Day there will be surprises and changes of momentum.
Since the day started, UCLA has been one of the winners on NSD thus far and has seized momentum.
That momentum carried on when Macon County (Montezuma, Georgia) outside linebacker Roquan Smith chose the Bruins over the Georgia Bulldogs.
Smith’s decision has been one of the big surprises of Signing Day thus far as Georgia usually lands the best prospects from the state each and every year.
According to Rivals.com. Smith is the No. 77 overall prospect in the country and the sixth best linebacker prospect.
With today’s events, UCLA has climbed the rankings and finds themselves in the top 10.
Mora has received three commitments from players who are all outside the state of California which shows just how well the Bruins’ coaching staff has done on the recruiting trail.
We’ll see if UCLA can build on this momentum as the day goes on.
