Stanley Johnson declares for 2015 NBA Draft

It comes a surprise to no one, but Arizona Wildcats small forward Stanley Johnson has officially declared for the 2015 NBA Draft. Johnson announced his decision on Thursday night.

Johnson led the Wildcats with 13.8 points per game this season. Johnson added 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.

The freshman from Fullerton, Calif. capped off his season — which saw the Arizona Wildcats advance to the West regional final before losing to Wisconsin — by claiming the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year award.

At just 18 years old, the sky is the limit for Stanley Johnson.

Leading up to this summer’s NBA Draft, many experts and analysts believe Johnson will be selected within the first ten picks. He is listed as the  No. 3 overall prospect by 247 Sports and the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2014 draft class by DraftExpress.

Johnson is a well-rounded player with range — 37.1 percent from beyond the arc — and he should be able to make a smooth transition to the next level.

The deadline for players to declare for the 2015 NBA Draft is April 26.
