Just how much does it cost to travel during the College Football Playoff? Well, if you are participating in the national championship like the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks then you have to shell out millions.

According to a report from CBS Sports, the Buckeyes spent $4.4 million during the College Football Playoff and the Ducks spent $3.8 million.

While that is a hefty number, neither team spent more on a single game during the postseason than Alabama, who spent $2.6 million for their trip to the Sugar Bowl — which was a loss to Ohio State.

A large part of the Alabama cost came from the size of their travel party which was 908 people — 197 more than any other team.

As for the Florida State Seminoles, their Rose Bowl loss to Oregon cost the university $2.3 million — despite staying in California for a much shorter time.

A complete breakdown of the spending can be seen below.
