The Purdue Boilermakers are currently in the mix for Caleb Swanigan, but they are also exploring the possibility of adding former Northern Kentucky guard Tayler Persons.
Persons averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game during his Northern Kentucky career, and he has been receiving some interest from the Boilermakers. However, Swanigan remains a focus so no offer has been made yet.
Persons also has offers from offers from Ball State and Xavier.
“I feel like I fit the way they’re built — toughness, leadership, how hard they play on the floor,” said Person, via Nathan Baird of the Journal and Courier. “I like how that transfers to my game.”
Persons said that he still has a couple of weeks before he makes his decision.
Once a decision is made, Persons will have to sit out one year before having three years of eligibility remaining.
