Four-star QB recruit Jalen Hurts commits to Alabama

Sources close to four-star quarterback recruit Jalen Hurts have announced that the Channelview (Texas) High School product has committed to Alabama University.

The Crimson Tide have become accustom to landing some of the nation’s top prospects and Hurts becomes the eleventh member of the 2016 recruiting class.  Ever since Hurts unofficial recruiting visit in April, Alabama appeared to be the heavy front runner especially after his father Averion said this, via 247 Sports:

“They’re a little bit more wide-open then they have been in the past, which is a plus. They do a little more no-huddle, gun stuff. It was great for me, and Jalen enjoyed it too, to see their tempo and their structure. As a high school coach you can understand how Coach Saban has gotten to the level he is at. He expects a lot from his kids, and he does a lot and cares a lot for them. It’s clear their goal is to win a national championship every single year, so we got to see what kind of things go in to achieving that goal.”

Hurts is among the nation’s top dual threat quarterbacks and should fit in nicely with the Tide’s current system. He chose Alabama over the likes of Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Florida.  Last night, his father was texted regarding the decision and responded in the most direct way possible, “Roll Tide.”
